NYCC Composium
I am very excited to return to Orlando and reunite with the National Young Composers Challenge family as an orchestral winner. Thank you to the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra for playing the first movement of my Scarlet Symphony beautifully, and I had a terrific time discussing the piece with the amazing Maestro Christopher Wilkins, who masterfully deciphered the little easter-egg-details. Hearing my piece in the gorgeous Steinmetz Hall was AWESOME.
Special thanks to Maestro Wilkins, Stephen Goldman, Alex Burtzos, Dan Crozier, Keith Lay, and Barbara Lombard for being amazing human beings and warm supporters of my music!
A Tiger and a Persimmon Meets May Cincinnati Festival
I am honored to be a part of 25 for 25: A New Time for Choral Music, a collaborative commissioning project project by the May Festival and Luna Composition Lab!
I drove to Cincinnati for the world premiere of my choral piece, The Tiger and the Dried Persimmon, commissioned by The May Festival for CINKOA: CINCINNATI KOREAN CHOIR! Meeting the CINKOA members and its artistic director/conductor, Ms. Sarah Kim, was so wonderful, and the performance was very exciting.
Special thank you to Han Lash for the mentoring sessions for this choral piece.

Beauty and the Beast: the Tuckahoe production!
Beauty and the Beast! Tuckahoe Middle/High School is thrilled to put on another spring musical, featuring a phenomenal cast, crew, and live pit orchestra accompanying the wonderful actors.
In my Tuckahoe pit orchestra career, I have played violin in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, The Music Man, and Into the Woods, and every show has been a magical experience. I get a little teary thinking that this is my last show, but all the more pumped to put on a great performance!

NYO-USA 2023! 🎻
Wow! I am so grateful to be accepted to the National Youth Orchestra of the U.S.A. for the summer of 2023!
I participated last year as one of two apprentice composers and had a wonderful time. This year, I will be playing in the orchestra as a violinist and going on tour to play in Carnegie Hall, Groton Hill Music Center, the Rady Shell, and an international stop in Canada, with Sir Andrew Davis, Gil Shaham, and Hilary Hahn!
I can’t wait to play with NYO and celebrate its 10th birthday!
Dear Yuri, Congratulations! On behalf of everyone at Carnegie Hall and its Weill Music Institute, 1 am delighted to invite you to be a member of the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) for its 10th anniversary season in 2023. performing across the country.
YoungArts Week 2023
YoungArts Week (Jan. 7-15) in Miami, FL
I have never felt so home from over 1,000 miles away from my house. I was constantly breathing in art, whether it be talking about music on the bus, meeting film directors and photographers during meals, or having a dance off with a writer, and it was absolute heaven. The first day of YoungArts Week feels like yesterday, and our concert at the New World Center feels like a distant past that I yearn to remember every detail of—YoungArts is a place where even time loses its meaning because we discover with the valuable treasures of friendship and artistry.
I am so grateful and honored to be a 2023 YoungArts Finalist Winner in Classical Music & a U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts Semi-Finalist!
Check out my piece, Avast, Ye! Maidens Sing, and the classical music discipline’s finale performance of Bohemian Rhapsody!

That's a Classic! Tuckahoe Strings Concert
Concert: 12/19/22 @7:30pm
This holiday season, the Tuckahoe Middle and High School Strings prepared classical composers’ music with classic jokes to tell in between pieces! We also held the strings program’s first fundraiser: light-up LED rings, which the audience and the players turned on during the special, calming A Beethoven Lullaby that was played in the darkened hall.

NY All-State Symphony Orchestra
After years of participating in the Westchester All-County Orchestra and falling in love with the big ensemble setting, I finally made NYSSMA All-State! I spent an awesome, music-full four days at Rochester, NY with an intense number of rehearsals and a magnificent concert at the Eastman Theatre. I have an even deeper appreciation for Sibelius Symphony No. 2, Coleridge-Taylor’s Bamboula, and Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise.
Special thanks to my supportive teachers at the Tuckahoe School who made this possible, Mr. duChateau and Dr. Goodman!
