PUO First Program of the 2023-24 Season! 🎻
On October 6th and 7th at 7:30pm, the Princeton University Orchestra had its first season with beautiful performances of Lysenko’s Elegy, Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1, and Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.
Despite it being the weekend before midterms week, PUO filled Richardson Hall with beautiful music! Aster, the soloist for the Shostakovich, and her stage presence was inspirational, and I really loved playing the luscious melody the 1st violins get to sing out.
Thank you to Maestro Pratt, manager Dan Hudson, assistant conductor Adrian Rogers, and my fellow PUO friends for making this first season delightful.
The Little Orchestra Society - Treblemaker's History of Music
I am honored to have a commission from the Little Orchestra Society, which featured me as a guest composer last March for their show Vivaldi’s Virtuosas!, to write a short orchestra piece for their upcoming shows on Sept. 30th and Oct. 1st! I wrote an orchestra version of my recent piece, Wings, and hope to inspire the young audience members to chase after their wildest dreams and ambitions.
I am so grateful for this opportunity; I am so excited!

NYO-USA 2023 North American Tour
What an amazing month it was, from the 2-week residence of rehearsing at the SUNY Purchase campus and going on tour for another few weeks with Sir Andrew Davis, Gil Shaham, and Hilary Hahn! I got to befriend so many talented and humble, hilarious musicians as we played through sweat, tears, and laughter.

While on tour, I wrote a short violin solo piece as a thank-you gift for Gil Shaham, who played 6 concerts with us. He warmly received Barber on a Walk and later told me that he enjoyed reading through it. I was incredibly honored.
Also, thank you to Caden Helmer (NYO2 saxophone) for commissioning me to write a sax quintet! It was beautifully performed by wonderful NYO2 players at the NYO2 Chamber Music Extravaganza concert on July 13th, 2023. More onWings

July is almost here! I am so excited to spend 2 weeks rehearsing with the National Youth Orchestra of the USA and then going on the North American tour until the end of July! Featuring violinists Hilary Hahn and Gil Shaham, with guest conductor Sir Andrew Davis, we will be playing Berlioz’s Symphony Fantastique, Barber and Tchaikovsky’s violin concertos, a commissioned piece by Valerie Coleman, and more.

High School Graduation 🎓🐯
June 20th, 2023: high school graduation!
Despite the obstacles that may have come our way, I had a spectacular four years at Tuckahoe High School.
- Thank you to Dr. Linehan, our retiring principal who spent 20 tireless years spreading positivity through the halls and thanking us for coming to school.
- Thank you to all of my teachers, who helped me broaden my mind and world and are now my mentors.
- Thank you to Mr. duChateau, Mr. Evans, and Ms. Reidy, who trusted and supported the music in me.
- Thank you to my friends, who made me feel welcomed, fluffy, and loved.
- Thank you to my parents, who never stopped feeding, loving, and believing in me.
Thank you to everyone for helping me find my wings! I am ready to fly.
Metropolitan High School Theater Awards 2023
Having been in the pit orchestra family since the 8th grade, I enjoyed playing challenging but fun music, working with Mr. and Mrs. duChateau, and seeing the orchestra come together as a team. I was especially proud and grateful when our musical production this year, Beauty and the Beast, was nominated for a few Metro Awards in the Lower Hudson area, including the “Outstanding performance by a student orchestra”! I am also grateful for the “Best Musician” award that I received from my mentors and peers, who I look up to and love dearly.
Thank you to everyone who made the musical experience magical.
Juilliard Commencement 🎓
It is time.
A bittersweet time to say thank you and farewell to the Juilliard Preparatory Division, which has been my home every Saturday since 2016 (MAP 16-20, PreCollege 20-23).
I was accepted into Juilliard with little knowledge of music theory and the intricacy of musicianship, but with a deep passion for composition and violin. Thank you to Dr. Daniel Felsenfeld, Dr. Manuel Sosa, Ms. Lucie Gelinas, and the wonderful faculty for believing in me and helping me turn my spark into a blazing fire.
I hope to come back in a few years for my masters! Juilliard, you just wait.
Grace Ng's Senior Recital
I have been commissioned to write a solo trombone piece for an amazing musician and human, Grace Ng! After her reaching out to me, it has been a great experience getting to know her more and discussing the piece together. The more I learned about trombone, an instrument I am not as familiar with, the more my mind was blown! Thank you to Grace for her patience, thoughtfulness, and beautiful playing at her senior recital.

From the Top: Show 430!
NPR’s From the Top, which features music and conversations by young classical musicians, is airing Show 430 the week of April 24th. My composition, Avast, Ye! Maidens Sing, will be featured, along with my interview with the amazing host, Peter Dugan! The whole From the Top team is brilliant, and I am grateful to be a part of this wonderful family.
Senior Recital 🎹 🪗 🎻

I cannot believe that it is already time for my senior recital. I am excited for three of my pieces, along with works by 3 other graduating Juilliard PreCollege composers, to be performed at Paul Hall!
I will be playing piano, accordion, and violin. Special thank you to my wonderful players, as well as my wonderful teacher, Manuel Sosa, who makes all of this possible.
