Happy Birthday, Brahms!

Following the livestream of Bach’s Birthday Celebration, Manhattan Chamber Music has been preparing for another one to celebrate the birthday of Brahms! This time, I was given a fun project of arranging the well-known melody of Brahms’s Wiegenlied (“Lullaby”) and having my friends collaborate with me to perform it. I arranged it for piano quartet (violin, viola, cello, and piano), and although layering everyone’s audio took some time, I was able to create a video of all of us playing together virtually! Thank you to Mr. Keith Burton for helping me out with the piano part and the reference recording, thank you to my friends for helping me out with this project, and thank you to my dad for helping me out with the editing process!

I hope the sweet little piece can bring calm and peace to everyone during this outbreak, especially for the many people who work hard to fight COVID-19.
